Netbooks upgrade tips – add system RAM and increase hard drive size!
It is half and more of netbooks, available today at stores, goes with sixty Gb 2,5-inch hard disk.
These laptops works 4-7 hours on batteries for laptop. Disk space increase, for 250+ Gb will not strongly cost a pretty penny – such HDD will cost for you $80. Besides, it is not bad to take care of additional increase system RAM size for what in the most netbook laptops only one slot is provided. 1Gb memory modules will cost you $15 for a module and all whole expenses on the total upgrade will not exceed $100. For this money you have an opportunity to hold much more videos on your netbook, and also result to increase operation system productivity.
After all upgrades HP computer, for example, can be used without hp laptop batteries as ”desktop”, having connected to it the TFT screen panel, a mouse and the keyboard, – an excellent choice for the unsophisticated home user. If you simply like to increase system productivity, will be enough only increase in size of the memory modules.
Remember that netbooks, as a rule, have no possibility to install memory modules more than 2 Gb. Maximum all amount hosted by laptop is 4 Gb. To get access to the HDD, it is necessary to remove completely a back cover, preliminary remove some screws. For memory modules upgrade you need to set up module at 45 degrees and pull it.
What to do with old hard disk? The answer to this question is obvious – it is necessary to order special “pocket” for 2,5-inch HDD with availability of its connection to the PC via USB slot. The most simple copy will cost you of all in $10. As a result you will have an external portable hard disk storage for handling big files.
How at replacement of the hard disk not to lose the data? For this purpose it is enough to copy the disk content from the laptop to the new disk. Use special software tools like Symantec Ghost or Acronis True Image for it.
